We like to conceive of foster placement and foster care as a journey: an experience that needs to be shared with as many travel companions as possible.

This section describes the major stages of the procedure that a candidate caregiver must go through before he or she is appointed as a foster parent. To illustrate how placing and foster care work in practice, we have included true stories (without impinging on the privacy of their protagonists). These stories are memories from a journey and have much to tell on the emotional ties that develop during a placement experience.

Even most beautiful journey, we believe, has much to gain from being shared with others.
